Manufacturing Operations
HS Marston has a modern facility in the UK utilising many lean manufacturing techniques.
Extensive use is being made of various operations transformation tools including:
• Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE)
• Production Preparation Process (3P)
These enable us to eliminate waste and focus on our core activities. In addition we are using these tools to help the
development of our supply chain.
Our goal is to add value in everything we do for our customers, to reduce lead times and constantly improve quality.
The site area covers approximately 18,500 sq.m. (200,000 sq.ft.) with a workforce of over 300 people and is situated at the
centre of the UK’s manufacturing heartland with good air, rail and road transport links.
Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE)
ACE is the standard infrastructure for supporting and sustaining quality throughout all of United Technologies Corporation (UTC).
There are 4 levels of ACE accreditation, from Qualifying through to Gold. HS Marston are currently sustaining silver as we progress on our journey to gold status
UTC Supplier Gold Program
At HS Marston, we have a strong and increasing dependence on our supply base. Suppliers are critical to our success as customers expect more innovative product solutions, on-time delivery and continuous improvement. To that end, HS Marston Aerospace has adopted the UTC Supplier Gold Program to encourage and recognize high-performing suppliers worldwide.The Supply Management team recently produced an overview video for employees and suppliers, explaining the programme and defining the benefits of achieving UTC Supplier Gold.
The video includes a definition of the Supplier Gold criteria, an explanation of the benefits of the programme and a recent example of Hi-Tech Mold & Tool—the first Hamilton Sundstrand supplier to achieve Supplier Gold.

UTC Supplier Gold is a programme that facilitates operational improvement for suppliers using key metrics aligned with ACE. The programme is now is being introduced to suppliers and employees worldwide.
